The most damaging part is that real boxers that has been in the sport since they were kids and maybe olympians are being paid ridiculous amount of money, while these idiots are being paid millions for this type of circus boxing.

One of the hardest sport deserves respect, not being ridiculed like this

It's a supply and demand market.

Marquez should be angry at the promoters and people running boxing for not producing enough stars.

Do you think in the 90s, some mtv show guys or something would be having the biggest audiences in boxing, jammed between a Tyson fight and a Prince Naseem fight for instance?

Isn't everyone a "non boxer" before they start boxing?

No. Even amateur boxers have had some time training before competing. Jake Paul and the athletes fighting have had no prior training nor any amateur background

Shouldn't be upset, Jake and co. are in a different part of boxing I guess.

Anyway, what a fighter he was, knocked Pacquiao out and they could've counted for a long time. Im not sure who was asleep longer, Pacman or Khan against Canelo.

It’s all fun and games when it’s fun and games. Until the moment that “fighter” faces serious adversity that makes them second guess whether this is the route they want to continue.

alot of upcoming boxers have to fight for tv or promoter exposure, carry a full or part time job, take on anyone without a full camp or knowing the style of opponent they are taking on, working their up the ladder with their coaches and trainers. Certainly not having extravagantly expensive camps.

The “non boxers” as Marquez refers to, they aren’t doing the “grind” that the real fighters have to do. And even with all the expensive full time camps and diets and expensive multiple sparring partners, eventually if they keep at it, they’ll come across a dog who will beat the fkn sht out of them and make all the fairweather fans fly away.

and then in their weak moment be asked the question, “do I really want this”

              and that’s what makes fighters.

Not just instant undefeated records and padding their records and flashy press conferences.

that can only last so long

                  No one should be ''angry''

Fck, it's a person's choice if they want to see them or not.

Evidently there are people who will pay for this.

A person can get hurt at anytime when it comes to contact sports.
Shame (?) how serious boxers have to struggle when a few pretenders get nice money out the gate.
The thing is, someone in that ring is a known commodity (either a well known athlete in another sport or a social media type with a big following or the boxer himself).

If you remove these jokes, that will not make life more fruitful for the struggling boxer.
Some people are not meant to succeed. Participating is as good as it gets.
