  • Comments Thread For: Pedraza Aims To Win Big Against Commey To Remain Relevant at 140

As BoxingScene.com reported last week, Puerto Rico's Jose "Sniper" Pedraza and Richard Commey underwent a change of date and venue. Instead of fighting on July 23 in Minnesota, Pedraza and Commey will square off in a battle of former world champions on August 27 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event will be broadcast on ESPN.

I had Jose Pedraza drawing with Jose Ramirez, fo real. I always enjoy the sweet-boxing of the 'Sniper'. I like Richard Commey too, this one is going to be good.

That's my boy Jose "Sniper" Pedraza, he's a boxing impresario, and if he'd just press his opponents a little more when he has them hurt he's have about 4-5 more KO's wins on his record.
I shouldn't be second guessing the 2 time former champion, because maybe it could've led to him injuring his hands in the process.
That said he should beat Commey in order to remain relevant, I don't think that it'll be an easy fight for him but he should be able to get the win.
This is actually his last push towards a chance to win another title, because I don't see to many fights left in his career,he probably has less than 10 to go.

To echo my colleagues, I'm a fan of Sniper Pedraza's skills. There are certain guys (and a few girls) that just have a boxing style that's just really pleasing to the eye and Jose is one of those guys for me.

I think he gets by Commey but there are some variables. Perhaps Richard is a better fighter at 140 than he was at 135 and he's able to impose some effective aggression and pressure on Pedraza. I like both guys but I will be pulling for Sniper.

Credit to Pedraza for constantly taking on tough challenges whether he wins or loses. He is the better boxer of the two. If he can avoid get hit by Commey's right hand clean, he can mostly likely outbox him to a decision.

I have Pedraza 60/40 in this fight.
Pedraza is Loma's best pro win so far.

You write off Commey at your own risk.

Commey is worn out and ready to go. Pedraza has featherfists tho.

Should be a decent scrap! I think Commey will be better at 140, but it's still a 50/50 fight!
