  • Comments Thread For: Bakhram Murtazaliev's Legal Team Challenges WBO Claim That Charlo-Tszyu Is Next

Jermell Charlo's next fight will be a mandatory title defense. Against which mandatory is currently a matter for the sanctioning bodies to resolve amongst themselves. As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, WBO president Francisco 'Paco' Valcarcel announced over the weekend that a deal was reached for Charlo to next face WBO junior middleweight mandatory challenger Tim Tszyu, thus avoiding a purse bid hearing that would have been scheduled later this month.

This is the problem with becoming undisputed.... it's a constant cluster f u c k for everybody to figure out who is next in line.

It seems like the sanctioning orgs are trying to go around the rotation system.

The WBA did it when they stripped Josh Taylor. It wasn't their turn to order a mando.

A good lawsuit might be needed to remind them all that a system is supposed to be in place.

Charlo should just drop the IBF belt, he doesn't need it.

it was well aware that the winner of Charlo vs Castano 2 had to fight Tim next so this is BS

get in line and wait your damn turn, how about actually fighting someone good, he is IBF mandatory and haven't fought anybody or any of the Top Fighters at 154

That hasn't been known at all. Bakhram Murtazaliev has been taking step aside money for years now.

Lol he probably knows this is his best chance at winning. Culcay would beat him for a vacant title though. Jermell should just vacate.

The simple solution is to drop the belt and save money on a sanctioning fee. Nobody should care about these belts. We'll be talking about the "five belt era" soon if we don't move on from this nonsense.

And so it begins. And still not a mandatory in sight for Canelo.
