  • Comments Thread For: Rolly Romero - He Doesn't Have to Win To Win

By Cliff Rold - Lightweight Rolly Romero (14-0, 12 KO) is a quote machine married well to the social media age. Romero brings a big punch with the personality, a combination that has sold tickets for as long as tickets have been sold. Saturday (Showtime PPV, 8 PM EST), Romero faces former three-time Jr. lightweight titlist Gervonta Davis (26-0, 24 KO) in a fight delayed from 2021 while Romero dealt with conduct accusations outside the ring.

"Rolly Romero is probably going to get the living hell beaten out of him."

He's gonna catch a serious beating, hopefully it's a little prolonged, for his mouth.
I can see Rolly quitting on his knees, in a prayer position, or the referee saving him.

    War Gervonta!

Rolly Romero has talked so much sh/t that he has to win by KO. Nothing less. He has spewed so much hatred about Tank, that he put himself in a position where he is now the loudmouth who has some viewers convinced that he is some bad ass who’s going to come in and KO Davis in 1 round. He’s literally going around saying that. He literally said he’s going to KO Tank in 1 round.

The very least he can do is win a decision. That’s his fault. The expectations though, is that he’s coming in to KO Tank.

Tank on the other hand, has been modest about his prediction. He’s basically like “IDK. We will see.”

The onus is on Romero to win by KO. All Tank has to do is win anyway possible. Stoppage or schooling. Just win. He’s not the one talking about KO’ing Romero in 1 round.

So yeah, Romero absolutely has to win to win. Rolly pretty much dug himself, not a hole, but a big ass Jupiter-sized crater.

        I like Rolly.

He’s a good dude and a complete oddball.

        Boxing needs more oddballs.

Call it what it is - another blatant ppv mismatch against yet another in-house B-level Hispanic fighter for Davis - who has elite skills and
power but seems perfectly content fighting inferior competition and wasting away his prime. No legacy, no accolades or acknowledgement of greatness…but hey - He’s a multi-millionaire!

Gervonta: I will torture his body, so that his soul learns to be humble.

When you eat through plastic tube, when you are paralyzed from neck down, then your family will gather around your hospital bed to see the new Rolly.

Tank is getting whooped. It's just that simple.
When Rolly get rich we all get rich.

Rolly's a real funny guy and a character. Boxing needs these type as much as I hate them when they actually succeed, lol. He plays an awesome villain. Right there with the likes of Mayorga or Vargas, lol. Perhaps he hasn't gotten as personal with the fighter, but he talks equal amount of **** that he probably can't cash in on.

This should be a real fun fight to watch though knowing how both guys fight.
