THE DATE OF Saturday April 8 has proved to be a particularly significant one in my long promotional career, spanning more than 40 years. It was on this date, at the cavernous Manchester Arena, that we launched our partnership with BT Sport, who were newcomers into the sport of boxing. It was a bumper card with a number of big names and a few who would eventually become a big noise in the game.

Nice mention of the world title shots they've shown. But no mention of the countless WBO European title fights, against Balkan bouncers that got his fighters into mandatory shots most had no chance of winning lol. Keep up the good work Frank.

Be interesting to see if Discovery really back Frank. The BT budget wasn’t great. Frank’s very good at building fighters, that’s were he excels, look at the job he did with Saunders for example. Where Frank struggles is taking you to that next level. That’s why he eventually lost Naz, Hatton, Khan etc.

Good luck to him though, one thing I’ll give Frank is he does love the sport. When Sky pulled the plug on boxing after back to back David Haye fiascos. Frank invested £10m of his own money to launch Boxnation. Not many promoters would take that risk and invest in the sport.
