  • Comments Thread For: Larry Holmes Impressed With Trevor Bryan's Training For Daniel Dubois

WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Trevor Bryan and his team did a lot of listening. When the former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes speaks, silence is golden. Bryan is getting ready to defend his WBA title against mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois - which Bryant's promoter, Don King, says is set for Saturday, June 11.

I always liked Bryan & I think he is better than people think. Surprised he would work with a Don King fighter after being screwed over by him. I would plant the seed on leaving King if & when possible. I have the same feelings about both Bryan & Dubois. They both have a lot to prove in my opinion. Dubois stepped up against Joyce & lost. This is Bryan’s step up but it is also Dubois’ 2nd step up as Bryan is better than anyone else on Dubois’ resume. Kingpin used to be better but not against Dubois. People saying this is a mismatch. Larry Holmes likes what he sees. Bryan is all ears & training hard. If he gets into good shape like earlier in his career he could surprise people.

Bryan could easily stop Dubois who thus far is nothing but unsubstantiated hype. I saw someone yesterday say Dubois "easily beats Joseph Parker"

      Insane.

The winner still doesn't deserve a fight against the Usyk-Joshua winner. Both are totally unproven prospects at this point, nothing more.

Bryan is unproven more so than Dubois but if he can get past him, he certainly should have his stock rise. Dubois although young hasn’t seen much development and is a bit stiff but he is a strong MF’er that can punch so you better know before hand if you don’t create the storm then you will certainly go through one!

Some people have been listening to far too much BT hype when he’s been knocking over bin men. He’s had one test and was comprehensively beaten up by Joyce’s jab. Parker would do the same.

The last paragraph is incorrect. No one proofreads anymore.
