  • Comments Thread For: Hearn on Conor Benn After Van Heerden KO: We Have to Step Up the Opposition Now

Conor Benn may have starched his last overmatched veteran, according to his promoter. Benn, the hard hitting British welterweight, picked up another emphatic win Saturday night at Manchester Arena in England with a second-round stoppage over southpaw Chris van Heerden, who has seen better days. Benn staggered van Heerden with a straight right and then followed up with a combination from which the South African never recovered.

David,Broner,Mikey,Sandor or Kava would do, as Kell or Khan do nothing for him.

The time has come for him to face Robert Guerrero. Nash out.

To be fair Avanesyan would be a great fight and if Benn isn't top tier he'll get beaten and stopped.

Nah, I'm not trying to see him beat up some random east European.

Go fight Jaron Ennis. Two guys near their peaks, 24 and 25 years old and on the rise. if they want a crack at the belts. They may as well fight each other to solidify a claim to the opportunity.

Eddie says he's ready, so why take a long time? We don't want to see him against guys who are not top welterweights like Broner.

Try to get him a fight with that guy Avneyesan at least. Then jump straight in with the other big names Ennis or Ortiz Jr.

If Spence and Crawford do fight each other, and it looks promising, then they're not staying at welterweight. Benn is a star attraction in the UK and I think his style is attractive anywhere.

Connor has his father's unpredictability, his opponents find him hard to read, his straight right hand reminds me of ike quartey
