  • Comments Thread For: Joel Diaz Jr. vs. Mercito Gesta Tops Golden Boy Card on April 21, DAZN

Golden Boy returns to its home in the Coachella Valley, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, CA, on April 21 for an exciting matchup between Palmdale's Joel Diaz, Jr. (26-2, 22 KOs) and San Diego's Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta (32-3-3, 17 KOs).

Meh, Gesta is pretty shopworn at this point and he was never thrilling at his best. He's 0-1-1 in his last two against non-descript competition and hasn't fought in 2 and half years.

As for Diaz, we got an idea where his level was against Prograis and Coria.

This is a pretty weak main event, hopefully that undercard is entertaining.

Its weak but the guys are evenly matched and I'm glad to have boxing back on Thursday.

For a Thursday night card you can’t really complain, nice to see JoJo back in action, I’m guessing GBP are going to revisit the Queen Ry-JoJo matchup assuming they both win in April.

Golden Boy doing club fights on DAZN again. That's good.

Fine for a little Thursday night card I guess, but I think this highlights how thin GB's stable is getting. This is like the cards they used to put on HBO Latino or the Friday night cards you had to stream. Aside from events with Garcia, Vergil or Munguia headlining, there isn't much left in the tank for Golden Boy

Gotta be honest, didn't realize it was a Thursday card. Shows how well i read that article. Definitely puts a completely different spin on it.

Zurdo Ramirez is a key piece for them.
