NEW YORK - There were times when Bob Arum and his matchmakers were worried Miguel Cotto wouldn't develop into what he became. Troublesome moments along the way could've prevented a then-unbeaten Cotto from becoming the great gate attraction he was at Madison Square Garden. There was the time DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley wobbled Cotto early in the third round of a fight Cotto won by fifth-round technical knockout in February 2005, which directly led to the Puerto Rican icon headlining at The Garden for the first time in June 2005.

A real reach to compare this guy to a young Cotto.

Never was big on Cotto but come on Bob, that comparison is just awful. Cotto reached a level this hyped up clown can only dream of because he will not accomplish a fraction of what Cotto achieved.

Cotto is one of my all time favorite fighters and I don't think there is really a comparison really.

I clearly remember that fight between Cotto and ChopChop because ChopChop is from D.C. and we were all watching. And I also clearly remembering that although Cotto won the fight, P.R. fans were mad that Cotto got "wobbled" and all the comparisons to Tito Trinadad were getting thrown out the window. Oh yea? How'd that turn out for Cotto's career?

They needa stop with Cotto comparisons. Cotto fought way tougher competition early in his career than the guys this dude has been fighting and was already a world champion at 23. Berlanga has barely stepped up and doesn't look anywhere near ready for the top guys in the division.

Did Bob really compare Berlanga to Miguel Cotto? Seriously? Diablo qué clase de cabrón...

Really can't compare Berlanga to the iconic Cotto. Only thing that's the same is he's also Peurto Rican, that's it.

Bob is delusional as fçk for comparing the chosen one with Cotto. The same Cotto who got schooled by uber driver Sadam ffs. Berlanga knocks Cotto’s ass out.
