WBA featherweight champion LEIGH WOOD looks to defend his belt for this first time this weekend, taking on Irishman MICHAEL CONLAN live on DAZN from Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham. WOOD shocked the world last time out as the 11/4 underdog beat Xu Can via TKO at Matchroom HQ to clinch the WBA featherweight title and claim his stake in the division.

Former Olympic bronze medallist CONLAN looks to continue a perfect start to the professional ranks, notching 16 wins since 2017 with a recent victory against fellow countryman T.J. Doheny for the WBA interim featherweight title and a shot against the champion Leigh Wood.

The article clearly is not fair and balanced, it's a bit embarrassing for boxingscene. It should just be labelled a fan-boy opinion piece.

The author titles the fight as the challenger versus the champion. That's just wrong and disrespectful for the champion who has worked his nuts off over a lifetime and deserves some respect for his current achievements.

He also wrongly says Leigh Wood has not won any titles. From his writings he's clearly anti-UK, by dismissing the Londsdale belt (British National Championship belt) as not a title. Clearly thinks being the champion of Europe is worthless. He probably doesn't have the mental capacity to understand what the Commonwealth belt means either.

Alas, maybe the author may one day physically turn up in the UK and it's gyms to be counted (he won't clearly).

Robbery watch begins with the Farias fight. Wouldn't at all be shocked to see her, Vazquez, Harper's opponent, and/or Conlan robbed. Especially Vazquez.
