  • Comments Thread For: Radhzab Butaev-Eimantas Stanionis Confirmed For Spence-Ugas Showtime PPV, April 16

Radzhab Butaev and Eimantas Stanionis could not ask for a better stage to fight for the right to challenge the welterweight throne. The agreed-upon WBA "World" welterweight title fight between Russia's Butaev and Lithuania's Stanionis is confirmed to land on the April 16 Showtime Pay-Per-View event headlined by the three-belt unification bout between IBF/WBC champ Errol Spence (27-0, 21KOs) and WBA "Super" titleholder Yordenis Ugas (27-4, 12KOs). Butaev-Stanionis is one of four fights to appear on the PPV telecast, though with direct ties to the main event with a guaranteed shot at the Spence-Ugas winner at stake.

This is what a PPV card is SUPPOSED to look like.

Butaev is good enough to beat Spence or Ugas going by his last fight where he dismantled the American prospect. He's got the same scary willpower that fellow Dagestani Beterbiev possesses.

Wtf with this "regular title" bs again?
I thought wba were getting rid of all these? Instead they're creating new ones?!

Solid card if it were on regular Showtime, not PPV worthy though.

They're setting up Spence to fight the winner so he can avoid Crawford and Ennis.

Those WBA mandates produced two good matchups for Butaev. First Jamal James, now Eimantas Stanionis.

Although you’re right, he did look good vs Jamal, I wouldn’t put too much stock into that. Jamal is a fridge contender more than a prospect. I got Stanaonis by KO

This is an awesome matchup! Gonna be a great fight while it lasts. Is it PPV material though? No..
