  • Comments Thread For: Luis Nery Bounces Back Strong: Drops, Decisions Carlos Castro

LAS VEGAS - Luis Nery re-established himself as one of boxing's best in the 122-pound division Saturday night. The Mexican southpaw dropped Carlos Castro early in the first round before boxing craftily for most of the remainder of their 10-round junior featherweight fight at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino's Michelob ULTRA Arena. Judges Max DeLuca (95-94) and Steve Weisfeld (96-93) scored their opener of a four-fight FOX Sports Pay-Per-View show for Nery, who won a split decision.

Commentary is auful its like they don't know what there watching, the guy was on the back foot not even throwing punches and it was a clear knockdown the one called a slip, but I'm sure we all know the sports is rigged, this Luis is auful and terrible to watch

They start a storyline and even if the fight doesn't represent the story they're reciting, they just keep with it. Close fight, really thought Castro lost the fight in the 9th even though he controlled the 10th.

Wow Nery boxed Castro's ears off! I'm digging his new style I think this is him from here out. He's evolved since the Figueroa fight

Castro boxed well, I was glad when I heard the judges say split, because the knockdown made the difference I felt Castro controlled and out boxed him but u can see nery Rob a few rounds with the sneaky flurry, I like Castro he just started bad with the knoctout he has very good technique

I think Castro deserved the draw, I did not see nery controlling the pace of the fight or outboxing Castro, and then the knockdown called a slip, I guess been a former champion worked in favor of Nery, but I think he will never going to be a champion again

Very relies too much on his physical attributes, and still gets wild during exchanges, open to sharp counter. He will get dropped again against any serious opposition.

Very good, if not great win for Nery against Castro, but is Nery still periodically using performance enhancing drugs?

Nery boxed Castro up like a 6 piece from Popeyes. I don't know what fight the judges were watching but Nery dominated and pretty much did whatever he wanted to do with Castro. He boxed beautifully.

They test him? Dude couldn't even sit down between rounds and was even sparring his trainer 8n the corner at one point. Highly suspicious given his history.
