      Blatant money grab hahaha

Anyway, isn't it the case that, unless the mandatory has actually been ordered, there is no obligation?

If he manages to do that, it could be good. It means maybe we will see Canelo vs one of Beterbiev, Bivol or Smith Jr at 175lbs.

And actually it will make his critics scramble too, because they are saying he's ducking 175.

So then we will see what they change their critique of Canelo to. Probably that he is ducking Mairis Breidis or something stupid like that.

I can also see if Canelo fights Beterbiev in May 2022 we will hear "OH he's fighting him too soon after his Marcus Browne December fight! He's cherry-picking a tired Beterbiev!".

What about Bivol? "Him too! he has a December fight. May 2022 is too soon! Cherrypicker!"

What about Smith Jr? "Smith lost to Bivol and Barrera and has a another loss by TKO vs an unknown. Canelo is cherrypicking champions!"

Trainer John Smith indicates that his boxer is owed an immediate shot at Makabu - and he ruled out the possibility of taking step-aside money.
Either fight at 175, or, fight Mairis Briedis, who's The Ring/IBF champ up there and similar in size to Makabu.

Dorticos and Okolie are just way too big. 6'3" and 6'5". Okolie could compete at HW in a couple of years.

Briedis and Makabu are 6'0" - 6'1". Still big, but that is the most "doable" Canelo can get when it comes to CW, with his 5'7" 1/2 frame.

If this Mchunu guy derails this fight, hopefully we see Canelo at 175 vs one of the top 3 there.

Mchunu is absolutely nice with the hands. skilled, fast, and hard to hit clean. Anyway, Mchunu, please do enforce ur mandatory in court and win. Canelo needs to keep his weight hopping ass right where he is. There's someone there already waiting for him named Benavidez. Thanks boy boy

Cruiserweight hardly ever gets any spotlight and Canelo having 1 fight there would bring a lil shine to the division since Usyk has left.
And Mchunu has already been smoked by Makabu why should he be able to derail what would be a big fight and legacy defining for Canelo because "people" dislike him and his "cherry picking" which all "A-sides" do but apparently some guys it's acceptable from and others it isn't, really curious I wonder what the reason maybe...

Makabu was allowed to make a voluntary defense of his title.
Mchunu could get away with asking for an interim title possibly.

Most fighter get 2 maybe 3 fights in their whole career were the stars line up...meaning the following
                    1. Opps is in their PRIME
                    2. One Maybe 2(depending how they lost) losses on their resume
                    3. They are equally matched in skills
Canelo has yet to reach 2..one beat em up and he was ancient.
