  • Comments Thread For: Gilberto Ramirez Continues To Apply Pressure on Dmitry Bivol For Showdown

World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (18-0, 11 KOs) is still being aggressively pursued by undefeated Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (42-0, 28 KOs), the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight world titleholder.

Hopefully this fight happens. I think it's a solid match up and a fight both kind of need.

GBP vs Matchroom. Always down for these scraps. It’s obvious Oscar poking at Hearn. Funny thing is Oscar don’t have pull anymore at DAZN otherwise this fight could’ve been forced by the ups

Make this far more logical fight Eddie, instead of exploiting John Ryder.

Gilberto Ramirez is a much, much better opponent choice for Bivol than John Ryder.

Let's get this fight Eddie Hearn.

Another fighter stalling in hopes for a big payday . ya know iron strengthes iron and fighting Ramirez would help you get better fitted to take on someone like canelo .

Unless you're just totally ignorant, you don't put this on Bivol! This is an Eddie Hearn Creation. He wants Bivol vs. Ryder, and his long-term plan is Canelo vs. Bivol!

ramirez-bivol will be the right fight if either plans on fighting canelo later on, perfect build on a mexican fanbase... either zurdo gets a career big time win and makes enough noise for fans to demand a canelo fight or bivol beats zurdo and becomes more sellable for the mexican fanbase...
it can only beneffit dazn if they want to entice canelo again on a good profittable fight...

I like Ryder, felt he deserved the nod against Smith but has he done anything other than that of note and has he done anything at light heavyweight?

Bivol beat Chilemba, Pascal and and Smith in a three fight stretch and will now be fighting Spider Richards and John Ryder in back to back fights.

I don't doubt that Bivol is game but Hearn is keeping his career in stasis hoping for that Canelo cash-out. It's a shame because Bivol and Zurdo would be a helluva match and would make the winner a compelling matchup for Alvarez.
