  • Comments Thread For: Kevin Lerena To Begin His Run in Heavyweight Division in February

Kevin Lerena makes bold move to heavyweight division. The speculation started when Lerena's name appeared at number 25 on Boxrec's heavyweight world ratings. Technically, his last fight was as a heavyweight since it took place at a catchweight above the cruiserweight limit.

What is he going to the heavyweights to do? There are good fights in the cruiserweight for him. If his management team is sound enough Kevin can fight for the top belts. I'm sorry he has nothing to offer at heavyweight and he is 6 ft tall without shoes on.

A good South African fighter like him can do much more at cruiserweight. That is his real weight class except he wants to lay his hands on WBC Bridgerweight belt then that's good but as far as he been permanently moving to heavyweight then that's a bad move.

You never know he might be good. After all, he's beaten Sefer Seferi.

At that size as a heavyweight you can still do great things, if you have the power and/or skill of a Mike Tyson, Marciano, Joe Louis or Holyfield and Usyk.

Always suspicious of these guys that have one of those off brand belts for years and do not face any widely recognized top contenders. It’s even more suspicious at cruiserweight.

Weird that a 6'1" guy has trouble making 200 lb.
