  • Comments Thread For: Teddy Atlas: In Defeat, Fans Now Respect Wilder in a Whole Different Way

Wilder didn’t behave like a champion, in the end he had that spoiled brat mentality on his stool . He had to have Shelly Finkle write up a statement fir damage control . Atlas got one thing correct his team lined his hand picked opponents like bowling pins and he bowled them down up until the one pin was Tyson Fury .

Yes, that much is very true. I am witnessing it now. Even some of the most virulent haters of Deontay Wilder are now beginning to warm to him. Which is a very good sign because at the end of the day we all love the sport of boxing and we are boxing fans first; No matter what tribe we belong too. We are all still fans. What Wilder was able to achieve in that fight even in defeat was nothing short of a miracle.

              Damage control.

He is what he is - an entertaining as **** Hail Mary puncher with no skills and poor durability. Hes always been that and was that in every single Fury fight, its just that Fury engaged him and beat him up in the rematches so he was forced to pick himself up off the canvas and throw his haymakers while getting hurt himself instead of just trying to chase Fury down without worrying about return fire. The praise hes getting for that is going overboard now.

Would have preferred him to get off his stool and hug Fury then sing a duet with him after the fight? I dont see anything wrong with the guy being mad about losing again and not wanting to rub salt in a open wound. He didnt make excuses for losing and gave Fury his due credit. What else does anybody want from him?

He earned respect, but this respect should not overshadow who he is as a boxer. In hindsight, we were shown that Breland's decision to throw in the towel was correct one. Be a warrior but don't be a stupid one.

Have you admitted that you were wrong about Fury not being able to beat Wilder without tampered gloves, eggweights, spiked water, etc?

Have you apologised to all the posters you called racist simply because they didn't believe Wilder's crackpot conspiracy theories?
