I wonder how much it affected him first 3 rounds were definitely better for him then last 7. Regardless he still has a lot to work on , deff a talented fighter tho .

That's an honest analysis of the fighter, and the fight, as well as what the future holds for his boxing career.
Coeceres was able to move all the way to the end of the fight; never really taken out of his style even though he couldn't even see later on, he scored the knockdown with one eye.......against Saunders, he was starting to double over a bit and was not moving, tired because of the body work and eventually ran into a uppercut KO. And that's from someone who you'd think isn't punching as hard as Berlanga...yet he's doubled over. Berlanga definitely can do more to the body and get more out of his power; get him working there, a little more grimey with it, he'll still generate great leverage from those spots. Maybe trying to be a little bit too pretty for a power puncher right now. Dramatic knockdown he took, laying there on his back pounding his chest...i almost wondered if he was trying to get up and couldnt during those 4 seconds or so. Definitely a big scare, but if he improves from here it can be something to look back on like those early knockdowns of some other PR greats like Tito and Cotto.
Its also confirmed that he has Khan's chin. He was dropped by the 154 pounder Lubin while sparring with headgear and put on his back by a feather fist opponent Saturday. somebody needs to teach Berlanga some defense and head movement or its going to get worse.
Edgar does need a lot work on defense. Yes he went down, like any fighter who receives a decent
unexpected punch. He doesn't have a weak chin since had clear understanding of knock down and
his legs/body responded well. Edgar's worked 18 rounds in last 2 fights and 16 rounds in first
16 fights. Knowing now about arm injury, shows how focused and determined he was to win. How
many proven fighters, who were champions quit because of injury or lost focus and wanted out.
Roberto Duran got punched in arm pit and refused to continue. Chris Bird won heavy weight fight
when 1 of the big brothers (not sure Vitali) injury arm, thought he was losing fight and refused to
come out for next round. Many other similar ending by fighters we consider super stars at one point.
Edgar is just starting out and showed some good qualities already. I will give him more time to
further develop before turning my back on him.
