  • Comments Thread For: Lopez-Kambosos Date Saga Continues - Now Shifting To October 16 at Barclays

Teofimo Lopez has watched event handlers take plans all around the world for his next fight, only to potentially wind up back home. The latest development in the ongoing saga surrounding Lopez's IBF-ordered lightweight title fight versus mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr. now has the Triller Fight Club Pay-Per-View event potentially taking place October 16 at Barclays Center in Lopez's hometown of Brooklyn, New York. The likely shift--rumored earlier in the week though initially shot down by all participants--comes despite a ruling by the IBF calling for Triller to stick to the contractually agreed October 4 date at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater in nearby New York City. BoxingScene.com has learned that Lopez has since agreed to the new date. Australia's Kambosos (19-0, 10KOs) has yet to sign a contract confirming his being on board with the change in plans.

It’s been moved for a 5th time, to the 16th of October, at the Barclay’s center in Brooklyn.

Rescheduled 5 times for a fight that no one really cares about.

It seems that they have changed their tune. The undercard is going to have Verzuz or it’ll be a paired event.

I guess we’ll see if this gets heated now because Lopez said no way and Kambosos said this is **** because he already has his trip set up for the other date. The IBF backed Kambosos too. But FightHype is on top of things so I believe it’s true.

First it was said that the IBF were fine with the change and then they weren’t. This has the making of a dumpster fire.

Sounds like Mr. Takeover doesn't have the A-Side swag like he thought he did.

He can't pull out of the fight without vacating and if he vacates, NSB will have to stop calling him undisputed and (hopefully) call out his ducking - because at that point it's a Riddick Bowe moment.

You’re equating Kambosas to Lennox Lewis?

                    Lol.
