Damn that woulda been a good one. I heard rumblings of a possible fight between Andy Ruiz and Ortiz though. That would be a good scrap.
Side note: Ortiz still gotta be kicking himself after missing out on that Joshua payday. He could have been Andy and got paid twice & could have possibly retained the titles unlike Andy
Not really surprised. Ortiz can only be a fight (or two max) away from retirement. Losing to the Juggernaut is not the cash out he is looking for.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Wilder vs Oritz III, either as a way of rehabiliting Wilder in the instance of Wilder losing to Fury, or as an easy defence for Wilder in the event of him recapturing the title.
Wallin said a similar thing a few days ago, they were negotiating with Ortiz but in the end team King King did not want the fight. Incidentally, the exact same thing happened early this year when Takam wanted to fight Ortiz and was negotiating with his people.
Ortiz could have also fought Hrgovic in the IBF eliminator but was not interested.

Some boogeyman this Ortiz...
I don’t understand where this ‘boogeyman’ nickname comes from, the only good name on his CV is Wilder who he lost twice to(I thought he won every round against wilder apart from the ones he went down in)
Wilders’s best win is Ortiz who is also unproven.
Ortiz and his team have also now not fought AJ when they had the chance, Joyce or Wallin.
I think his best win is probably Tony Thompson on short notice or Jennings
