  • Comments Thread For: Wilder On Fury's Withdrawal: Honestly, I Don't Believe He Had No COVID; Look At His Actions

Deontay Wilder isn't concerned about Tyson Fury withdrawing from their third fight a second time. Wilder won't worry about things he cannot control as he winds down another training camp for his shot at redemption October 9 in Las Vegas. The former WBC champion nevertheless expressed extreme skepticism regarding his rival's COVID-19 diagnosis during his recent appearance on "The PBC Podcast."

That's because Fury didn't have Covid. We all know that. But Fury fans want to put it out there that "maybe he did, how can you prove he didn't". FYI, you don't just "get over" Covid in a couple of days and then go out to a car show and the casino like nothing ever happened haha. The fight was not (and is not) selling, Fury was getting beat up in training and he was fat and not ready. So they used the Covid excuse. They did the same with the Lopez fight earlier this year. ESPN is gonna get pretty tired of putting on these fights that don't make money though and that's when itll get interesting. My money is still on Fury pulling out of this fight though. He's not even here in the United States yet...

Do you believe Fury, with obesity, caught Covid-19 and recovered faster than Oscar who ended up in the hospital?

The truth is that no-one can know for sure. If Fury tested postive for covid and was out and about literally the next day, then, yes that is irresponsible. There was no 'getting over' that was required though. Fury was asymptomatic all along. He tested positive and should have been quarantining until he tested negative. No one knows when he first tested positive. No one knows when he tested negative.

It may have been (and this is just mulling over a possibility) that he tested positive a number of days before having to delay the fight. Consider day 1, a sparring partner gets symptoms. Day 2, sparring partner tests positive. Fury, though asymptomatic, gets tested. Comes back positive. The camp at this point are hoping the fight might still go ahead, so they stay quiet, hoping that Fury maybe tests negative soon enough to get back into training. Day 3: other members of the camp test positive and now have to quarantine also. This is starting to look like it's a problem. Day 4-6: they continue to test Fury, he continues to come back positive, still with no symptoms. He and others continue to quarantine. They have now lost nearly a week of training camp. Day 7: they call Arum and tell him they are going to have to delay the fight, as Fury is still testing positive and they have lost so much training time. Day 8: Fury tests negative, and is cleared to go out. Is seen at a car dealership and a casino. His trainer and sparring partners are still quarantining, so delaying the fight still seems like the only real option.

Not saying that is what happened, but it is a possibility and no one can say definitively that could not have happened.

Some people catch covid and die. Some people catch it and need to be hospitalised. Some people catch it and recover at home. A lot of people catch it and have no symptoms whatsoever. Fury being asymptomatic is not unlikely in any way, especially given his age and his partial vaccination.

48-year-old ODLH having it worse than 33-year-old Fury is exactly what we would expect, given the older you are the more likely you are to deveop serious symptoms.

I don't believe that a ring costume caused Wilder to get beaten half to death by Fury, but what can ya do?

Yes, that's part of my point. No one CAN know for sure and they used that confusion to delay the fight. Covid is an excuse that no one can prove. It's the perfect excuse. But they also said Parker had it. Then when Parker is seen out at the McGregor fight, all of a sudden he doesn't have it? Fury has it. Then when he is seen at the casino and car show he's already beaten it? And I also found it interesting that someone like Fury, who loves to run his mouth, is somehow radio silent when he is supposedly fighting for his life with a deadly disease. Any other time this fraud has something to say about everything. But he gets Covid and we don't hear from him at all? And he never even mentions it since? It's like it never really happened? Right?
