Luis Alberto Lopez pulled off a career-changing upset Friday night. The Mexican veteran beat up previously unbeaten junior lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr. in the co-feature on Oscar Valdez-Robson Conceicao undercard in Tucson, Arizona. The relentless, rugged Lopez pressured Flores for most of their fight, hurt him several times, and bruised and bloodied his face on his way to winning a 10-round unanimous decision at Casino Del Sol's AVA Amphitheater.

Flores jr didn't pass the test! This fight should have been stopped in the 9th honestly, this kid took too much punishment. I had 98-92 for Lopez

Two incompetent referees in one night for opposite reasons. Shame on the ref and Flores' corner for letting him take the beating of his life. Flores was battered and knocked out tonight, regardless of what boxrec will say. Flores father reminds me of the arrogant heartless father of Tony Ayala and his siblings and how he treated his sons.

He won't be back from it. It was so bad that I highly doubt he gets better
