  • Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez-Robson Conceicao ESPN Weigh-In Results From Tucson

Given the amount of controversy in the pre-fight buildup, Oscar Valdez and Robson Conceicao at least spared the sport of any drama at the scale. Both boxers made weight ahead of their WBC junior lightweight title fight, which takes place Friday evening on ESPN and accompanying platforms from AVA Amphitheater at Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona. Valdez weighed 130 pounds for his first fight back in his childhood hometown since 2017, though not before having to remove his socks and clear room on the stage before hitting the mark. Conceicao was 129.6 pounds for his first career title fight, making weight without any additional effort.

Spoiler alert. Valdez will easily make weight because he was allowed to take banned substances to do so.

Robson has skills, but Oscar is on another level and he's much more powerful.

        Valdez by KO inside 10!

You beat me to it. Co-sign. This is an absolute disgrace. This level of blatant bigoted tribal favouritism is a complete and utter shambles

This fight got a lot more buzz because of his cheating. No matter what he does in the ring all people are going to think is cheater. He should take advantage play the villain role

Trace amounts don’t equal PEDS. And he weighed exactly at the 130# limit. Oscar Valdez is one of the classiest fighters out there. I have no doubt he didn’t take any thing illegal and that was backed up by the rules of using in a competition, which he hasn’t done. Get over it already and enjoy a good fight tomorrow.

Absolutely. Because Phentermine is not a steroid.

Interestingly enough, it showed up in my urine ten years ago. I had no idea how it got in my body. I investigated a bit and the only possible way it could have gotten into my body was when I would go to the gym and strangers would hand me pills and I figured, "what's the worst that could happen!"

Back then I just never kept track of what I put in my body. Now I always ask, "hey buddy, is this a controlled substance?" If they say no, I'll take it...whatever it is.

It's outright sacrilegious. I'll watch for the undercard, but the main will be like seeing somebody break into a church. The concept of fairness is missing. Valdez gets caught on drugs and then the syndicate sweeps it under the rug. Those casino Indians want to be persuaded. The fish rots from the head, Mauricio.
