  • Comments Thread For: Acosta: I've Been Waiting A Year For This Fight With Nakatani, I'm Just Ready

Angel 'Tito' Acosta didn't imagine it would take this long to land his next title fight, though understands that everything happens for a reason. Quite a lot has happened in the two-plus years since the rangy knockout artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico last held the WBO junior flyweight title. Included among the changes was a move to flyweight, where Acosta has won his last two fights. The next adventure for the 30-year-old will come this Friday, when he challenges Japan's Junto Nakatani (21-0, 16KOs) for the WBO flyweight title live on ESPN+ from AVA Amphitheater at Casino del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

Indeed, a good portion of the pretentious fans missed out on Kazuto Ioka vs. Juan Francisco Rodriquez -- a beautiful technical championship bout ; they will likely miss out on another great fight from the lighter-weights in Junto Nakatani's U.S. debut and first dangerous title defense against former jr. WBO light-flyweight champ Angel Acosta.

These high-standards is what the lames crying complain about, but when boxing delivers, they dont know shyte.

Respect for giving the smaller weights their due brother.
As a Boxing fan and a friend of Juntos I'm really looking forward to this fight. Acosta is Strong and experienced. The perfect opponent for Junto to Introduce himself to the U.S audience.
Hopefully the Boxing fans on here will turn in.

I got to respect Junto Nakatani, coming to defend his world-title for his first title defense against Angel Acosta should of stirred conversation from this board, but you know how they be

That’s what I’ve been saying. Sneaky Arum pulled a fast one and is playing favorites again. This fight should’ve been made the main event.

I’m rooting for Nakatani and hoping that he can put on a dominant performance.
