Is this an example of a sanctioning body being "Out of Control," or "In Total Control?" What say you BScene?

IBF mandates Teofimo Lopez, George Kambosos be vaccinated against COVID-19 ahead of title fight

The IBF has mandated that Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Sept. 7 to proceed with their Oct. 5 fight in New York for the undisputed lightweight championship, Triller's Ryan Kavanaugh told ESPN on Thursday.

Both Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) and Kambosos (19-0, 10 KOs) have agreed to the stipulation and will push forward with the Triller Fight Club pay-per-view at Hulu Theater at MSG, a rare Tuesday night of championship boxing.

As Floyd has so bluntly put it...the belts are not about competition, superiority or first prize but solely upon generating revenue for self interest while cannibalizes the sport.

Even if we somehow got the WBA and WBC down to one champion per weight class, we'd still have four champions per weight class between the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO.

        Boxing sucks.

Oscar and floyd are right . Eliminate every belt besides the actual wbc ,wba , ibf , wbo champion

Super, diamond, interim, franchise and regular gotta go . Its 1 champ per sanctioning body . It takes 1 sanctioning body to make it all happen

Get rid of the wbo and the ibo while we’re at it

The WBC is being the most disingenous with its franchise belt at LW. We all agree one champ per org is best, but really so long as the orgs don't try and obfuscate who is their number one, it's clear cut. What's truly evil is when you have the WBC giving the championship belt to Haney and then Suleiman trying to have his cake and eat it by saying Lopez is also their champion with the franchise belt. These organisations should be legally bound to clearly rank the belts, so that only the highest ranked belt can be considered the champ and then everyone can ignore the lesser belts. Maybe they should be forced to call them secondary champion, tertiary champion etc if they are going to have them and not be allowed to have these bs terms like franchise or misleading titles like gold.

I also think they over did it when they squeezed in all these in-between weight belts too. Not to mention too many orgs. You see someone like Davis flirting with all the belts around his weight. Just about anyone can hop a weight and complicate the picture. These in-between weights, like the extra fake belts all fit a pattern. That is having more championship bouts so the promoters et al can make more money. Should we have lots of 'championships'? Or do we have integrity in boxing? Unbridled control will lead to the production of more belts, and more championships. Someone needs to reel this in and have integrity in the sport again. If this was the way it was in another sport...picture the problems there would be there too.

Teofimo Lopez should be the only wbc champion. Toss that franchise shed and take haneys belt away from him and give it to Teofimo Lopez. Why? Because Teofimo Lopez beat the main man to become the man, Lomachenko. Devin “senior citizen beater” haney literally fought nobody and got his belt for free and on top of that he keeps defending it against old washed up ex champions like gamboa and jorge linares who hadn’t won a big fight in ages

Each division needs to have one champion and there must be one global boxing sanctioning body. But there is no money in that for Sulaimans of this world so that's never going to happen, unless Eddie builds UFC-like body and all other belts will lose their significance over time.
