  • Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis Issued Deadline By WBA To Confirm Which Title He Plans To Next Defend

Gervonta Davis is officially on the clock. The unbeaten rising superstar has been ordered by the World Boxing Association (WBA) to provide clarification as to which title he plans to keep moving forward. Baltimore's Davis (25-0, 24KOs) currently holds the WBA "Super" title at junior lightweight, along with the WBA "World" titles at lightweight and junior welterweight--the latter two where a WBA "Super" champion currently exists. The matter has been addressed Friday via official letter--a copy of which has been obtained by BoxingScene.com--with a one-week deadline to clarify at which weight he plans to campaign and defend a WBA title.

How is this a choice? Throw his two fake ass Regular belts in the trash and never award them again. Then tell him he can defend his Super belt or be stripped of it.

Really, really simple. No more secondary or tertiary titlists. One WBA champion per weight class, maximum. It's okay to have a vacant belt if nobody deserves it.

We have to see him in with the A class. 140 josh Taylor, at least Zapeda size. 135, Teo has outback issues, Ryan is in his own world, Haney by default. Tank kills at 130.

Wow look at that, he holds fake belts and gets to pick which fake belt he wants to keep. He got that Haymon privilege plain and simple. Same with Santa Cruz. The Haymon and WBA connection is disgusting. No shame on either side.

When you push the most corrupt organization in sports to it’s limit, you’re a problem.

Lol which of his world titles? He only has one and seeing as he isn't defending it cuz he is fighting at other weiggts he should be stripped of it.

WBA said they were cleaning up their act but they clearly still got Haymon leaning on their necks

                To Next Defend
Does that mean if he picks regular, which he probably will cuz doubt he can make 130, he won't be ordered to fight super champ (Lopez or Taylor)?
                Why the exception here?

The obvious choice would be junk em all 3 and fight Haney for the WBC title at 135 but I think it's a secondary title too I'm confused on that issue.

He could just make up his own fight weight like Canelo did at 155. Say 133?
