  • Comments Thread For: Troy Isley Suffers Heartbreaking Loss To Gleb Bakshi In Middleweight Round of 16

Troy Isley's journey from the amatuer to the pros and back to the amateurs ends with a heartbreaking defeat. The Top Rank-signed middleweight from Alexandria, Virginia came up just short in a Round of 16 bout with number-two seed Gleb Bakshi, dropping a disputed split decision. Isley won by scores of 29-28 and 29-28 on two cards, trumped by tallies of 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 for Bakshi in a competitive affair Thursday at Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo.

Are Boxing Scene and JakeNDaBox signed to do press releases for team USA or Top Rank or something? What a shill piece for Isley, yes, the whole world's heart is just torn from this result.

Tough Defeat for Troy! I thought he Edged but that damn Ref was terrible she was stepping in stopping the action during exchanges but yet when they tied up she wouldn't step in and break immediate so things got sloppy

Won't scream Robbery or any of that stuff but yeah whatever

Boxing Scene is actually a website that covers boxing from around the world, with many correspondents in Europe, Asia, etc. This is just a total fluff, cheerleading piece, complete with a promotional photo of Troy LOL.

Good thing you're not screaming robbery, because it would be totally stupid for a fight like that.

Thought he edged it as well but thought Johnson lost his first round match up. So it evens out that way though obviously Isley doesn't give a crap about Johnson's result.

Isley looked good though, can do some things in the pro ranks.
