Teofimo Lopez Jr. and his legal team will not budge on its stance for the lightweight champion's next fight to happen sooner rather than later. Patrick English, lead counsel for Lopez and manager David McWater submitted an updated filing with the International Boxing Federation (IBF), who continues to review all of the facts regarding the postponed title defense versus mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr. The filing includes an updated complaint along with supporting evidence, as well as Certification letters from both Lopez and McWater--copies of which have been obtained by BoxingScene.com.

He deft doesn't want to travel to Australia, but his biggest beef is the fight being pushed back all the way to October.

Thriller is having buyers remorse. Lopez is not popular enough to make back a $6mil+ investment against an unknown fighter.

Triller cant afford the 6 million. There is a reason why the OG promotions never offered more than 3 million. They can analyze and project what the fight would bring in even under the best of scenarios. Triller being the rookie overplayed its hand and now it is having buyers remorse. They need help to not lose the shirt off their back. They need the Australian Govt. to chip in and they are probably willing to do so cos of the Kambosos which is why the fight needs to be in Australia. Teo gotta understand he has little leverage in this and sooner or later he will need to get his butt over there or end up taking lesser money from Top Rank once the whole deal falls through. Top Rank not paying more than 2-2.5 mil bid tops.
