  • Comments Thread For: Kambosos' Promoter On Teofimo Lopez's Reluctance To Fight In Australia

Lou DiBella has only so much sympathy for Teofimo Lopez. The IBF/WBA/WBO lightweight champion and his team have recently balked at the idea of going to Australia to take on DiBella's client and IBF mandatory,

Why would Lopez, who is coming off one of the biggest wins in recent boxing history against one of the biggest names in boxing, go to Australia to fight a guy nobody cares about on his home turf? Makes no sense. They’re trying to do him like they did Pac against Horn.

Well. It’s supposed to be a bigger fight in Australia. So why not? He just sounds like a btch who doesn’t want to leave his comfort zone when the reward is better on the other side.

Lopez, I believe, is afraid of being fouled and robbed in a fight, like Pacquiao was. It's no surprise that when Australians fight overseas, they appear like thrashes

Not to mention Teo already knows he's fighting Lomachenko next, so this fight is more of a distraction for him! You know Arum is loving this too!

Teofimo Lopez should just vacate the IBF title. It's not like he's the undisputed lightweight champion of the world anyhow and in addition, he wants no part of Devin Haney; Who is the WBC lightweight champion.

Vacate the IBF belt and let Commey and Kambosos fight for it. Give Loma the rematch, then those two winners either fight each other or Haney in February.

he lives in the country where the vast majority of the biggest fights in boxing have historically and still currently take place. Why travel to another country that’s barely known for boxing that will clearly put him at a disadvantage and possibly steal a win from him the same way they did to Pac a few years ago? Teo is an stablished world champion. Not some schmuck looking to get an opportunity against some nobody like Kambosos.

What might make Lopez feel more comfortable is to hire non-Australian judges. Those Aussie judges are tricky.
