Where’s the idiot that said Pacquiao wouldn’t be training with Roach for this fight?

Spence is smart by not talking much like Thurman who was going to bring in the new era. Likewise Broner & Rios--big talk doesn't win fights.

Thurman is/was actually very respectful of pac

He was just hyping the fight

Understandable since he was getting a cut of the ppv buys

You shouldn’t be mentioning Broner or Rios. Those were pathetic fights.
I respect Manny but we aren’t going to forget the farce fights against guys that were literally coming off losses. Let’s count them, shall we?

1- Clottey had just lost to Cotto
2- Margarito had been KO’d by Mosley and a dubious catchweight
3- Mosley had lost to Floyd and drew with Moraa.
4- Brandon Rios had lost to Alvarado
5- Broner was coming off two losses and a draw
6- Mathysse was rebuilding after getting beat by Danny Garcia
7- Vargas was irrelevant at 147
8- Cotto was a catchweight at 145 (where’s the challenge in that when you weaken a man?)
9- Oscar at 147, need I say more?
10- Manny wanted to fight McGregor after criticizing Floyd for it. The only reason they didn’t fight is because Connor lost.
11- Algieri was a virtual unknown kickboxer and a 144 Ibs catchweight.

We recognize Manny’s greatness but we can’t ignore a lot of the unnecessary pathetic mismatches.

Actually he wasn't. He went below the belt when he said he's going to crucify Pacquiao with a crown of Thorns. That's religious blasphemy. Pac took that seriously.

Fair enough, when great fighters fight for a long time, you are going to get these types of matches and opponents. Not every fighter is great, and sometimes you are going to have to fight fighters who are not on-par with your skill set, because sometimes you have to stay busy because big fights take time to negotiate. People nowadays jump all over fighters because everything is magnified 100x with all the information and social media and platforms that people have to put their 2 cents in. But let me let you in on a little secret, throughout boxing history even great fighters had those types of opponents, Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Dempsey, Chavez, Sanchez, Duran, ect ect, if you look at their Resumes you will find names that you will say, who the fook is this guy! It's business, and does take away from the great things they accomplished, I will say nowadays there is more of a problem with fighters being diva's, thinking they are worth more than they are, and making things difficult in putting together great match ups, but that's a conversation for another day.
