That is a factor, but he was coming off a lay off and was fighting someone who probably knew him pretty well in the ring considering their sparring sessions. However his defense needs some serious tuning as he moves up in weight.

Martinez was supposed to fight Arroyo this past February, and he suspiciously broke his hand in the locker room.
It appears that he had some apprehension about fighting Arroyo on that night.
Now all of a sudden he is some kind of rush to fight him, I hope that the fight does take place.
It would be an explosive fight between them, Arroyo's better defense, and boxing should be the difference in their bout.
