For many, California is the land of dreams, but Joshua Buatsi is struggling to see what all the fuss is. The Bay Area has been the light-heavyweight's base since he teamed up with Virgil Hunter earlier this year, but while many have it as the place they would most like to live, Buatsi is missing south London.

I like Buatsi. Dangerous puncher. Needs to improve, but he could make some real noise in this division with time.

Nothing to do in California? Hmmm…spent 4 years of my enlistment stationed in that state and I found it a neverending source of entertainment. Really quite a strange statement. Even in NorCal, heading out to Sausalito or out into Sonoma wine country…not sure what Josh wants to do that he can’t do at home. Perhaps the lad just misses family.

Man, I'm from the Bay Area and I live here now. I grew up in Oakland and Alameda. All Buatsi has to do is take a trip to Napa Valley and Yountville and then head to Carmel/Monterey for a day at the beach and if he ever needs a day away, head to South/North lake Tahoe and spend the night and if he wants excitement, pop over to Reno for some action. Covid is affecting nothing. Restaurants, Casino's, even in Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa area are all busy. Or head to SF and visit the height and ashbury or Chinatown or the Warf.

Yeah he must just be homesick or can’t handle being social. If he is from London or around it this may be the case. London culture isn’t noted for its neighbourly appeal….when you hear the term “British reserve” its really the southeast that’s implied

I was really hoping for the Bivol/Beterbiev unification.

The Russian river, Guerneville and the Armstrong woods. Jenner, Bodega Bay. I love it up north. They got the world famous, banana slug festival up there, they party about a bug. When you're alone, one spot is as good as another, I guess.

If you can't find something to do in California then there's something wrong on your end.
