  • Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Injured, Out Of Brian Mendoza Fight On Tank Davis-Mario Barrios Undercard

Julian Williams will have to wait yet a little longer for his comeback bout. BoxingScene.com has learned that Williams has suffered an unspecified injury while training that has forced him to withdraw from his upcoming fight against Brian Mendoza. Philadelphia's Williams (27-2-1, 16 KOs, 1 NC) and Albuquerque's Mendoza (19-1, 13 KOs) were supposed to meet in a 10-round junior middleweight match Saturday night on the Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard of the Gervonta Davis-Mario Barrios bout at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Well damn, was looking forward to seeing J-Rock back in the ring. That’s twice in a row J-Rock had pulled out of this matchup. Just scratch it and move one of the non televised undercards in its place, preferably two fighters who are going to violently exchange leather

As if this card wasn't garbage enough already . PBC has some terrible PPV cards. Hopefully more of them bomb so we get decent cards on PPV again like in the 90's-early 2000's.

I didn't even know Williams was fighting on this card. I don't think he's all that, personally, and can be replaced easily. The main attraction is Lubin and Davis. As Floyd says repeatedly about his PPV fights: Nobody has to buy it. I think it'd still sell well, and if not, it's their loss.

This was the worst fight of the card anyways. JRock was supposed to fight Hogan at first and for some reason that didn't happen, then he got Covid in December and now this. Oh yeah, this all preceding the stoppage loss vs Rosario. The man really may just be done at this point.
