  • Comments Thread For: Nonito Donaire-Nordine Oubaali Main Event Averaged 217,000 Viewers On Showtime

Showtime drew almost the same viewership for its main event Saturday night as the premium cable network maintained two weeks earlier. Nielsen Media Research revealed Wednesday that an average of 217,000 viewers watched Nonito Donaire's fourth-round knockout of Nordine Oubaali. The 38-year-old Donaire dropped the previously undefeated French southpaw three times, twice in the third round and once in the fourth round, before their scheduled 12-round, 118-pound championship match was stopped by referee Jack Reiss at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Boxing doesn't belong on a premium network anymore.

Well. Showtime put on mismatch after mismatch for years and this is the result.

What a shame, Donaire deserved more eyes on that showing. Showtime putting out trash cards that a great one got overlooked.

Showtime is failing largely when it comes to the advertising of their fights. Donaire deserved better ratings as a whole. It’s a shame they didn’t get proper viewership

It's okay, the addition of Jake Paul is going to going to change everything for the SHO ratings!!!!

Par for the course in terms of the type of ratings SHO has been getting. I still want to see a big name like Errol or Tank fight on SHO and see if they can get significantly better ratings now or not.

Great card. Boxing fans don’t discuss and don’t tune in. Yet a lot of you wonder why Triller and these exhibitions get so much attention.

Donaire is "must watch" boxing for me. I'm surprised the numbers are so low.

That’s awfully low. Donaire deserves more justice of better promotions
