  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Paul: Showtime, Fanmio Launch Digital Distribution Platforms

With less than three weeks until Sunday, June 6, when all-time boxing great and 2020 International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee Floyd "Money" Mayweather returns to the ring to take on social media sensation and professional boxer Logan "The Maverick" Paul in an exhibition bout, SHOWTIME and FANMIO have launched digital distribution platforms for pay-per-view purchase. The event telecast is produced and distributed by SHOWTIME PPV(R) and begins at a special time of 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, live from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Just for the record - I talked about this last year, the idea that Floyd has gone all-in with Fanmio and trying to help it get off the ground. They made their money letting celebs basically sell themselves clean, so it's a professional version of Triller.

If they launch this within commentary that isn't smoking weed and a bunch of drunks, and no washed up celebrities asking a non-existent crowd to react, and doesn't have Snoop singing hymns when Paul gets knocked out...this will let Fanmio prove what I said: which is that fans want a PROFESSIONAL presentation, not "The Ghetto" of boxing.

Nobody cares about this pathetic circus cash grab. It's gonna bomb but they'll never admit it

Because I don't want more Mayweather circus matches, the fact they're being sold at the price of a legitimate fight makes the sport look bad

No issue with these as long as there is a solid, prime boxing contender or title fight filled undercard. These social media types have shown to be better promoters than most fighters. If the public buys this stuff in droves - that’s business
