  • Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol Boxes Past Craig Richards For Decision Win To Retain Title

Dmitry Bivol made a successful seventh defense of his WBA light-heavyweight title but did nothing to greatly boost his reputation as he was taken the distance by Craig Richards in Manchester. The Russian claimed a unanimous decision and two of the judges scores were probably generous to the Londoner, but this was risk-free stuff from Bivol, who had gone the full 12 rounds in his previous four defenses.

I had 116-112 for the champ. Bivol can't crack an egg ... Beterbiev will crush him

Bivol looked small compared to that British guy.

But he still unifies 175. Beterbiev also looked rusty.

Richards was a lot more technical than I thought. Really enjoyed the fight.

That fight wasn’t close lol. These British judges are unbelievable.

You right Richards took 2 rounds maximum, another home judging by brits

Richards gave a decent account of himself.

I was impressed that Richards made the last four rounds somewhat interesting to watch.

That’s enough to almost get a majority draw apparently.

Without question but 116-112 is very generous to Richards and those judges thought it was closer.

Good performance by both men. The decision shouldn't have been that close in my opinion. I want to see Bivol at 168. He's too small for 175.
