  • Comments Thread For: Arreola: I Don't Feel Like I'm 40 Years Old; Don't Feel Like A Beaten, Old Fighter

The odds aren't the only numbers stacked against Chris Arreola as his fight against Andy Ruiz Jr. approaches. The veteran heavyweight turned 40 on March 5. Ruiz is 31, about 8 1/2 years younger and still in the physical prime of his boxing career as they prepare to fight Saturday night in Carson, California.

This is a generic PBC fight. Like Tank vs Gamboa, Wilder vs Ortiz, Hurd vs Lara...younger fighter vs aged, faded veteran.

    Yawn.

PBC is clueless for putting this on PPV.

It will be a fun fight, though. For however long it lasts. No yawn.

U left out Tank v Old pillow-fisted Lsc. That being said, 25-1 odds is not big enough. Slow Arreola is way way past it...stands no chance against the handspeed, good power, and solid chin of Ruiz. $50 for another Pbc main event mismatch - no thanks! Ruiz within 3 rds.

He's been sloppy fat most, maybe all, of his adult life. Taken him till he's 40 to figure out a diet to support his career as an athlete. Of course he feels good.

I don't consider mismatches "exciting" or "fun". It's sad and a joke. There's no point in Ruiz fighting a 40 year old HW Arreola who was relevant literally 1 decade ago.

Might as well watch Floyd beat up McGregor ffs

They'll very likely go at each other throwing bombs until one of them is stopped. How is that not fun?

You don't feel like a beaten old fighter but unfortunately you've been fighting like one for many years

Yet that is exactly what he is. Want to see what Ruiz looks like but just not coughing up $50 to see it.
