  • Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez-Josh Taylor Card To Be Held At Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Venue May 22

Bob Arum's promotional company will bring its first Las Vegas boxing card since the COVID-19 pandemic began to a venue other than MGM Grand Conference Center. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be the venue for the Jose Ramirez-Josh Taylor 140-pound title unification match May 22. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas refurbished the property formerly known as Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and opened for business late in March.

The American Olympians are dominating these Euro-Bums : the 2012 London Olympian Jamel Herring, toyed, embarrassed and retired Carl Frampton. This weekend, another 2008 Beijing Olympian Demetrius Andrade, outclassed and dominated Liam Williams. This American-wave of the USA's top Olympians is going to continue and wash Josh Taylor back to the shores of Ireland, when the 2012 Olympian and current unified 140 jr. welterweight champion Jose Ramirez destroys Josh Taylor for the 140 undisputed crown.

          They selling tickets for this?

They should push it back a couple weeks cuz Vegas is going to 100% capacity on June 1.

First I am glad it is being shown on ESPN as close to free TV fights as it gets and they do a good job of producing there fights. That said why the smaller site? No ansere here, but Arum is not doing it there for anything less then a good reason what that is I do not know. For sure it will be a solid main event and a good card. And the fights themselves may shine very nice in that smaller location. Sort of like when I saw Pink Floyd at a small joint The Lyric Theaeter back in the 70's Drifting off topic but everyone had a great seat.

Between 1,200 and 1,300 tickets will go on sale for Ramirez-Taylor because The Theater at Virgin Hotels is considerably smaller than those two arenas.
They must have gotten a nice site fee because they aren't making much from actual gate revenue.

Either way, can't wait! War Ramirez!!

Sounds like a cheap event, held at a cheap hotel.

Haha think you mean Scotland? But nice try!

interesting how an undefeated fighter who hold multiple belts and has wins over postol, prograis etc is a Bum????

you may not think he will win but far from a Bum!

Find out soon enough why Ramirez wet himself and ran a mile rather than sack up and enter the 140lb tournament, the only reason we don’t already know who is better out of these two is Ramirez.
