Disgraceful listening to some of the commentary, laughing at and mocking the competitors, and sad that you have actual boxing people working the card too. Only a matter of time until someone that has no business being in the ring gets seriously hurt

Agreed, but this is not boxing it's entertainment and it's funny, pure comedy. And that's the intrigue, ain't it. Some idiot gets hurt and had no business getting into the ring in the first place. The commentators would probably be cracking jokes as they carried the guy off on a stretcher. But no one forced those knuckleheads to get into the ring just to get some publicity

You're not wrong, but something about it just feels immoral and low-class to me. I guess I just don't enjoy mean-spirited entertainment

This is actually very concerning now that I think about it. Ignore the morality and ethics of it for a second and just look at it from a risk perspective it brings to the sport of boxing. You got real fighters mixed in with all these random nobodies, you got the states handing out pro boxing licenses like candy, which was always done (remember zelenoff) but the general public didnt know about it, combined with the public awareness of CTE and boxing not having a centralized organization like the NFL to push off regulators

We are a serious injury away from boxing getting major regulation if some idiot youtuber gets seriously injured. Imagine if a Paul Logan type with his level of fame got a gerald mcclelan level disabled in a fight. Every congressman out there would jump on it for political points trying to get boxing banned in the US.

What boxing is doing is really stupid here, mixing in real fighters with pretend youtubers, this is basically like if the NFL pulled random people out from the stands and let them try to tackle the NFL linebackers and risk serious injury.

Holy crap. How the hell did this fight get okayed. Reykon was tough but the man had no business in that ring with Fournier. This is concerning one day one of these dudes is going to get more hurt than Nate Robinson. You can’t play boxing.

dangers made worse by large weight disparity. Fournier weighed in at 187. Reykon at 178.5 for a "light heavyweight" bout

That's the problem. You get these youtubers doing it and everything thinks they can do it.

Obviously there is an immense talent gap between pros and these novice, 1 and done fights, but despite how dumb they look, it doesn't take away any more of the danger from participating. It only takes 1 punch to mess you 4 life.
