  • Comments Thread For: Zach Parker Blows Away Vaughn Alexander in Two Rounds

Zach Parker turned in a big display on his big night and he knocked down Vaughn Alexander twice on the way to a second-round stoppage of the American at the Copper Box in East London. Parker, 26, is largely unknown and was headlining a TV show for the first time. Yet as the WBO's No 1 ranked super-middleweight contender, there could be some very big fights on the horizon for him. The 35-year-old Alexander looked a fair test and had never previously been stopped.

Parker vs John Ryder would be a decent undercard fight on a UK show.

That's impressive tbh. Alexander is super sturdy.

I'd like to see Parker now face someone like Berlanga or Rosado or Morrell Jr or Gongora...step ups for everyone and another step closer to championship fights and proving who's the real deal

I just don't understand why Parker relinquished the British title. Fights with the likes of Lerrone Richards, Rocky fielding & John Ryder could well have got him a Lonsdale belt outright & led to Commonwealth & European (EBU) title shots.
With BJS, Plant, Murata, Charlo & Benavidez all queuing up for Canelo Zack could be waiting 18-24 months for a genuine World title shot , so the best he could hope for is a WBA Ordanery/Regular title fight with David Morrell or for the WBO to brake up yet another indisputed championship. At least he could of had a Commonwealth, EBU & Lonsdale belt in his trophy cabenet to show his grand children, where as at this rate all he'll have is a couple of 4th rate plastic alphabet trinkets!
