  • Comments Thread For: Beterbiev Wants Canelo, Smith-Vlasov Winner or Bivol-Richards Winner

This past Saturday night in Moscow, Artur Beterbiev (16-0, 16 KOs) retained his world titles with a tenth round stoppage of Germany contender Adam Deines. Deines went down in the first round, and again in the tenth, before the contest was waved off.

Yeah.... you and everyone else from 154-200 pounds seem to want Alvarez. I would not put the career on hold for that one unless you drop a division and work your way into the sweepstakes at Super MW. Alvarez looks very comfortable there.

Unify 175. Please. You against Smith is an easy sell, easy to promote slugfest that should make you both a career payday. If Vlasov pulls an upset, an all-Russian unification should EASILY sell out in Eastern Europe and be a huge draw. And as long as Bivol wins, that is the fight everyone wants. It is not the Crawford/Spence or Joshua/Fury level of "want", but it is a true clash of styles kind unification that will get every actual boxing fan pumped. What a way to make up for 2020 if we get all that at light HW, Canelo fighting the top names at 168, and a Joshua/Fury unification.

Now, about that Crawford/Spence fight...... Sigh. Kind of bummed on that one.

He needs to unify 175. And Canelo is unifying 168. Then we can have a mega fight with the champs from 2 unified divisions. Meet at 171-172.

      That would be awesome

With the pandemic and Deines, what was Beterbiev's purse. Of course Beterbiev and his handlers want to make money that would equal 5 fights... it's shetty times and pro boxers want to make money before it's too late

          Beterbiev can't make 171-172 imo.

Dudes a Cruiserweight. He drains himself at his age just to make 175

Was the performance bad enough for Canelo to choose him for a fight?

Bivol beats him. Bivol is the best at 175 and he beats Canelo also.

Beterbiev at 171 is a corpse. If Canelo wants to fight him, this is the right moment. Beterbiev looked bad in last fight.

Canelo is the modern day Mayweather. The man had one fight at 175 against a beltholder who was the weakest link (No offence meant to Kovalev).

Everyone wants to fight him, he cannot fight everyone, and he cannot continue to jump weight classes.

Just like how I didn’t understand GGG wanting Mayweather.

He literally just left 160 and has now settled down at 168, I don’t mind him fighting Beterbiev but let’s see Arthur v Smith v Bivol if they all win their next fights.

And the last man standing can fight a Canelo that had cleaned out 168.

Artur wants Belts, not names... Unifying all the belts @ 175 has been his goal forever... Canelo would be a side dish and an excellent payday for sure, but for Beterbiev the only thing that matters for now is LHW ... Cool if Canelo wants to challenge him once he unifies, but it will be @ 175 or nothing... $$$$ isn't everything for Artur... The Sport is though...
