  • Comments Thread For: Estrada-Gonzalez Rematch: WBA Suspends Judge Carlos Sucre, Who Scored 117-111

A Florida boxing judge is being held accountable for creating a Texas-sized mess. The World Boxing Association (WBA) has officially placed veteran ring official Carlos Sucre on temporary suspension less than a day after his role as a ringside official for the memorable rematch between Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez. Mexico's Estrada prevailed by split decision to retain his lineal and WBC junior bantamweight titles for the third time while annexing the WBA strap from Gonzalez in their 12-round scorcher Saturday evening at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Good. This should happen more often and maybe it would stop

Don't just suspend him. Fine him part of his paycheck for the fight.

Yet, Julie Lederman wasn't suspended for her BS card against Loma.

        Ok

Good. A message needs to be sent to all judges.

            Ok

Her scorecard is more accurate than ones who thought that the loma/lopez fight was a draw

Never fails, fight a Mexican in Texas and prepare to get screwed by the judges. The whole commission should be suspended. Other than the typical few biased morons on here who try to pretend they scored the fight and had a close win for Estrada, we all know Choc won that fight.

This needs to happen a lot more. The sanctioning bodies need and state athletic commissions need to hire former fighters and refs to be judges. There’s a long list of suspect scorecards that should’ve gotten people suspended and didn’t.

All judges should be suspended because they all scored it unanimous for Estrada and after the fight Estrada said he felt it was a draw. It all looks very stupid
