  • Comments Thread For: Jaime Munguia Return Eyed For April 24, Several Opponents in Play

The return of middleweight contender Jaime Munguia is being targeted for April 24, according to ESPN Deportes. Munguia (36-0, 29 KOs) was in action back in October, when he pulled off a dramatic sixth round stoppage of Tureano Johnson. The contest was give and take, until Munguia landed an vicious uppercut that severely split Johnson's lip.

So no matter what it's going to be a soft touch. GB knows with Munguia's style and leaky defense that he is ripe to be upset and they are playing it safe until they get a big cash out fight. He beats all 4 of those guys mentioned imo. In terms of difficulty of opponent, I would rank them Keeler, Ballard, Quigley, Mosley

Saying slim pickings would be doing a disservice for slim pickings.

Just cash Munguia out against GGG. That’d be a fun fight and GGG is fighting father time too, so you never know.

Really is a weak group opponents. Does Munguia have 1 single quality opponent?? Is he ever gonna be ready ??

I doubt it. The guy was draining himself beyond belief at 154 where he used the Homer Simpson defence, and I had him losing a fight or two down there on the cards. They've been trying to build him into a war for Canelo or GGG but it looks like he will never be a good opponent for either of them TBH. I think David Lemieux would KO him, let alone a G or Canelo.

Cherry picker GGG is not fighting this guy knowing he isn't safe. He isn't fighting Charlo and Murata as well and ve contented in fighting the likes of Zremeta the Uber driver. Ckenbuterol Canelo should not give this coward a last payday...

Liam Smith is probably his best win...

He’s definitely been matched cautiously following the Hogan scare.

Munguia's reign of terror will continue.

Those are bs fights!! Why not try to GGG? Or if he cant get him in the right then Mungia is the number 1 rabked fighter and mandatory for the WBC, so make the Charlo fight. Somehow he didnt take the fight with Andrade though he's also in the top spot with the WBO. This is such bs as always
