  • Comments Thread For: Claressa Shields On PPV Debut: I'm Not Gonna Sit Around & Wait For A Date From A Network

By Keith Idec - Tired of waiting for a date to fight on a network, Claressa Shields and her team determined it was time to gamble on the most accomplished female fighter in boxing. They had hoped Showtime would reschedule Shields' fight against Marie-Eve Dicaire for some point by the end of 2020. When they couldn't come to restructured terms on the deal they had made for Showtime to air Shields-Dicaire last May 9, Dmitriy Salita, Shields' promoter, and Mark Taffet, Shields' manager, shopped Shields-Dicaire to various networks and streaming services.

Man this screams disaster. 250 max at the event. $30 PPV for a womens fight with a combined main event record of 27-0, 2KO's.

Hope the fighters all make enough to get what they are promised.

Your not getting network offers because your fights are boring . You can't crack an egg. That's why your getting no offers. And you think your some Muhammad Ali of women boxing. Shut up, fight , and the public will make that decision. You going around calling yourself the GWOAT is harming your career.

Katie Taylor seems to be making plenty of money and has no trouble fighting regularly maybe the problem is her promoter Salita ...

Don't do it Claressa. it's going to flop. Go to DAZN instead. They love losing money over there.

I still remember Sekbach's video proclaiming Salita the #1 pound-for-pound before Khan whooped him because he was undefeated (and a fellow member of a certain desert population). Maybe Salita's got the same delusions about his promotional abilities.

Ain’t nobody paying for that honey. The only way you’re making PPV is getting some of your fans to watch you on Onlyfans lol. Ain’t no money in women’s boxing you should go over to UFC.

Taylor also has a bigger opposition pool.
