  • Comments Thread For: Showtime's Broner-Santiago Fight Drew Peak Viewership Of 304,...

Adrien Broner brought more viewers to Showtime than other boxers once again Saturday night. Nielsen Media Research statistics released Tuesday indicated Showtime's tripleheader that featured Broner and Jovanie Santiago produced higher viewership than any of the premium cable network's first seven telecasts on Saturday nights since it brought boxing back to its airwaves August 1. Showtime didn't televise live boxing for the 4 1/2 months prior to August 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though it out did all the SHO cards since the pandemic, these numbers were not close to what Broner is accustomed to doing. And just for comparison, I believe Gervonta Davis last fight did over 600k. Tank has clearly surpassed him in terms of popularity and it will be interesting to see what type of numbers Broner does the next time out.

And yes, I am fully aware more and more people are watching fights through OTT now. But still expected more numbers here as Broner was still the #1 trend on twitter in the US.

Horrible numbers. They should have stayed with Feb 13 instead of going up against Valdez Berchelt.

The whole card looked weak especially with the Top Tank card going on at the same time and the featured guys looked spectacular.

              I guess Broner needed a fight .

Pretty good numbers. AB is still a draw.

Oscar Valdez vs Miguel Berchelt for the WBC junior lightweight title was a potential fight of the year.

We had Showtime on the small screen..........Meh.
