Press Release - Carlos Rivera (13-3) pounded out an exciting eight round decision over local veteran Carlos Diaz (9-13) in the main event at a sold out A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, Florida. Rivera dropped Diaz in the second round after an explosive exchange. Diaz was able to recover and hurt Rivera in the fourth.
After eight brutal rounds that left the crowd on their feet Rivera won a unanimous decision.
Welterweight prospect Keith Thurman (6-0) continued his ruthless onslaught through the division, scoring his sixth 1st-round knockout in as many fights. His latest victim was late sub Jayson Jordan (6-23-3), who got nailed with a massive right hand that put him down for the full ten count.
