Press Release - Starfight Productions presented another thrilling night of boxing action Friday, May 9 at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, FL. In the main event, resurging junior welterweight Derrick Samuels (15-3-1) maintained his winning ways with a 1st round stoppage over Donnell Logan (10-16-2, 5KO). A body shot did in the Tennessee journeyman, as he was unable to recover.
Streaking teenaged junior middleweight Keith Thurman (5-0, 5KO) continues to wow ‘em at every turn. His latest victory came with a 1st round destruction of normally durable Jessie Davis (9-10, 6KO). After taking massive punishment in the early part of the round, Davis was hit with a left hook to the body and a huge right hand that sent him to the canvas for the full ten count. The end came at 2:45 of the first round. All five of Thurman’s pro fights have ended in first round knockout. [details]
