Top light-heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (24-2, 1 NC, 14 KOs) will look to end 2013 on a high note when he faces knockout artist Samuel Miller (26-7, 23 KOs) at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago on December 6th. The ten-round bout will take place on the undercard of “World Championship Boxing: Wlodarczyk vs. Fragomeni 3″ presented by Ulrich Knockout Promotions, Warriors Boxing and 8 Count Productions.

The 26-year-old “Polish Price” certainly gained the attention of boxing fans everywhere when he defeated former world champion Glen Johnson by a unanimous decision in the Windy City last year. Only a few months later, Fonfara stopped Tommy Karpency in the seventh round to earn the IBO light-heavyweight title. Fonfara then became the IBF’s #1 contender following his ninth-round knockout over former world champion Gabriel Campillo last August at US Cellular Field. Fonfara is now riding a 15-bout unbeaten streak including eleven knockouts.

Fonfara’s opponent has a knockout punch of his own. Miller, a Colombian fighting out of La Habra, California has delivered 23 knockouts in his 26 victories, twelve of those knockouts coming in the first round. Some of the top names he’s faced include Brian Vera, David “The Destroyer” Lopez, Marco Antonio Rubio, Marco Antonio Periban and Gilberto Ramiro Sanchez. Most recently, Miller scored a first round knockout over Leonardo Julio in September. His vast experience along with his knockout power should prove to be a tough test for the Polish fighter.
