Polis light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (25-3, 15 KOs) proved to be a solid fighter in Saturday's twelve round decision loss to WBC champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson (24-1, 20 KOs) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Fonfara went down in the first round and then once again from a shot to the body, but he rallied in the second half of the contest to hurt and drop Stevenson in the ninth round.

"I'm sorry that I did not win, but I will try to do more for all my fans. I proved that Adonis is not Superman. He was better, but I still came back. The mistake that I made was throwing so few combinations. Now I have to train harder to be a future world champion. I am proud that I survived [the entire twelve rounds]. I worked hard in the last three rounds because I wanted to secure a victory, but I did not succeed. Such is life," Fonfara said.
