AVENTURA, Florida – Badou Jack made weight Saturday afternoon for a very different fight than the rematch for which he had spent most of the past couple months training.

Jack stepped on the Florida State Boxing Commission’s scale at 177 pounds, the contracted limit for his 10-round fight versus Dervin Colina. Venezuela’s Colina came in at 176.4 pounds for what is officially a cruiserweight contest on the Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul undercard Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The Mayweather-Paul undercard weigh-ins took place at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa. Mayweather and Paul will weigh in later Saturday afternoon at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in nearby Hollywood for their eight-round exhibition.

Jack (23-3-3, 13 KOs), a Las Vegas resident raised in Sweden, was supposed to battle Quebec’s Jean Pascal in a 12-round WBA world light heavyweight championship rematch. The unbeaten, unproven Colina (15-0, 13 KOs) replaced Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KOs, 1 NC) as Jack’s opponent on approximately one week’s notice because Pascal tested positive for four banned substances in exams administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association.

Pascal, 38, defeated Jack, 37, by split decision in their 12-round fight in December 2019 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Jarrett Hurd and Luis Arias also met their contractual obligations for a 10-round middleweight match on the Mayweather-Paul undercard.

Hurd (24-1, 16 KOs), a former IBF/IBO/WBA 154-pound champ from Accokeek, Maryland, weighed in at 158 pounds. Arias (18-2-1, 9 KOs), a Milwaukee native who resides in Boca Raton, Florida, officially weighed 158.6 pounds.

Former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson and Brian Maxwell also will weigh in later Saturday for their four-round cruiserweight exhibition.

Miami’s Johnson is 43, but Maxwell lost his only professional boxing bout by second-round technical knockout 3½ months ago in Miami.

Maxwell, 33, also is 0-3 in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships matches. The Roanoke, Virginia, resident has been knocked out three times overall in four bouts between boxing and BKFC.

Maxwell is 2-3 in MMA matches as well, including two TKO defeats.

The Johnson-Maxwell match will open Showtime Pay-Per-View’s four-fight event Sunday night at the home stadium of the Miami Dolphins (8 p.m. EDT; $49.99).
