Floyd Mayweather ended all the speculation Tuesday about when he’ll fight Logan Paul.

The retired superstar announced on Instagram that he’ll box Paul in an exhibition June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Their pay-per-view event will take place on a Sunday night, the evening after another pay-per-view show headlined by unified, undefeated lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr. at LoanDepot Park in Miami, the home stadium of Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins.

Unlike the Lopez-Kambosos card, fans will be able to attend the Showtime Pay-Per-View event that'll feature Mayweather and Paul at the home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

Mayweather and Paul figure to be approximately 30 pounds apart for their fight, an apparent compromise for Mayweather’s absurd advantages in skill and experience. Paul reportedly cannot weigh more than 190 pounds when he meets Mayweather, who cannot weigh more than 160.

Mayweather never weighed in at more than 151 pounds for any of his 50 professional fights.

Regardless, the 44-year-old Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) is commonly considered the best boxer, pound-for-pound, of his generation. The Grand Rapids, Michigan, native won world titles in five weight classes, retired undefeated and became the highest-paid boxer in the history of the sport.

Mayweather was announced as part of the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021 in December.

The 26-year-old Paul, while significantly taller and heavier than the 5-feet-8 Mayweather, has participated in only one professional boxing match. The 6-feet-2 Paul, an influencer with huge followings on Instagram and YouTube, lost that six-round cruiserweight bout by split decision to rival Olajide Olatunji, better known as “KSI,” in November 2019 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Paul previously fought “KSI” to a majority draw in a six-round amateur match that took place in August 2018 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

While a complete mismatch based on experience, Mayweather-Paul figures to do robust business on pay-per-view due to the mainstream fame of both combatants.

They were supposed to fight February 20, but that event was postponed indefinitely for various reasons. This will be the second exhibition for Mayweather since his last official fight – a 10th-round technical knockout of UFC superstar Conor McGregor in August 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In his first exhibition after retiring for the third time from boxing, Mayweather knocked out a significantly smaller opponent, Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, in the first round of a December 2018 bout in Saitama, Japan. Mayweather knocked down Nasukawa, who was just 20 when they fought, three times before their fight was stopped.

Like his victory over Nasukawa, the result of Mayweather’s exhibition with Paul won’t count on his official boxing record.
